All parents are expected to read, understand and uphold the following:
Sportsmanship at all games and practices will be demonstrated as you are role models!
Learn and know the rules of the game of lacrosse.
Respect the game of lacrosse, the officials and coaches, who are volunteers. The referees are only to be approached and spoken to by the head coaches of each team. Please respect the coaches and officials by allowing them to handle all game circumstances.
Do not coach your child. Let players play and coaches coach, and support both positively.
Do not EVER criticize other players irrespective of the circumstances.
Follow the "24 Hour Rule"; if you have a complaint resulting from a game (or practice) situation, speak with the coach or appropriate organization member on the following day.
Serious problems will be brought to the attention of the HYL Board of Directors.
Fun and a love of the game will be emphasized, as will putting forth 100% effort at all times, learning and not winning or losing.
All players are expected to read, understand and uphold the following:
Respect your teammates, coaches, referees and opponents at all times.
Sportsmanship will be demonstrated at all times, on and off the field. This also means athletes will be gracious in defeat and modest in victory.
Knowledge of the game of lacrosse will grow throughout the season and players will abide by the rules of the game at all times.
Support fellow teammates, encourage them and lead by a positive example.
Mistakes are part of learning. Don’t be afraid to make them.
Effort needs to be 100% for practices and games.
Equipment must be properly maintained and worn at all practices and games.
Learn as much as you can from your coaches. No matter how many years you have played, there is still something new to learn.
Fun should be a part of the experience. Effort and growing as a player are just as important as having fun!
All coaches are expected to read, understand and uphold the following:
Role Model positive behavior and perform with the highest moral character possible.
Reinforce positive self image of players through positive and constructive coaching.
Respect the game of lacrosse and the officials.
Know & teach the rules of lacrosse. Abide by those rules in practices and games.
Establish objectives for the team and players and inform them of team and individual goals.
Sportsmanship will be taught and practiced at all games and practices. This also means being modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
